Marking a Milestone

Getting a group of sorority sisters together for a long weekend in California's wine country isn't easy. When 10 years have passed since graduation, all sorts of little things—kids, jobs, long distances—can get in the way. But Amy Gorman (second from left) and Kellie James (in green) were on a mission to organize a reunion.

That's how nine Tri Deltas from the University of California, Santa Barbara, ended up in Sonoma Valley last March. They rented a house in Santa Rosa to save money—but also to maximize their time together. "I wanted to stay in a place with a common area, so it would feel like old times in the sorority house," explains Kellie. The sisters booked a private tasting at Ledson Winery & Vineyards, and when they weren't winery-hopping—packing three into one day—they were at the Lodge at Sonoma's spa. But, as one sister put it, what they all loved best was "the time we spent together playing card games and telling stories from college."
