Do-It-Yourself Wine Tags
There's a better way to find your glass in a sea of stemware than to search for your lipstick shade. At your next get-together, make these easy-to-assemble wine markers while drinking a bottle (or two!).
monogrammed flower
- Pull an artificial flower from its stem.
- Trim a ribbon to about 6½ inches.
- Cut a small slit into the center of the ribbon with a craft knife.
- Center the flower on the slit, and then pierce a pronged letter brad (available in the scrapbook section of your crafts store) through the flower's center and the ribbon. Bend the brad's prongs behind the flower to secure.
- Make a clean cut on both ends of the ribbon.
- Apply a thin line of liquid seam sealant onto each end. Let dry.
mini cork
- Stamp a number onto one side of a ¾-inch cork stopper.
- Screw a 5-millimeter screw eye into the opposite side.
- Hook a ¾-inch wine-stem hoop through the screw eye.
dry-erase bubble
- Using a speech-bubble hole punch (sold in stationery and crafts stores), punch out a speech bubble from a dry-erase sticker sheet.
- Remove the backing and adhere to a piece of chipboard.
- Cut around the shape with scissors.
- Punch a hole at the top of the bubble, and attach to a ¾-inch wine-stem hoop using a jump ring.
- Write your message on the bubble with a fine-point dry-erase marker.
