Sue Williams was turning 50 in February, and she wasn't about to observe one of the biggest moments of her life at home in wintry Illinois.
So the registered nurse e-mailed her sisters—all six of them, plus three sisters-in-law—about celebrating the occasion with her at the Barceló Maya Palace resort on Mexico's Riviera Maya. Sue figured that at least a couple of them could swing a trip, but she never imagined that the final tally would reach five.
"We may not have been the sexiest girls on the beach, but we were definitely the most fun!" she says.
They went snorkeling, toured Mayan ruins, took a sunset dinner cruise, and indulged in sisterly shenanigans. "We made her wear a KISS ME, I'M 50 pin and a flashing tiara," says Sue's older sister Mary. "But the highlight of the vacation was Captain Hector. Sue thought he was hot, so I managed to talk him into giving her a kiss."
The group is already plotting a trip for the next sister to hit 50.
